Privacy Policy — Tasbih
Short answer: the app collects nothing. No account, no analytics, no tracking, no ads. Your practice stays on your device. The only data that ever leaves your phone is what Google Play itself needs to process an optional purchase.
1. What this policy covers
This policy applies to the Android application Tasbih (the “app”). It describes what data is collected, what is not, and how the one external service involved — your purchase — is handled.
2. What we do not collect
- No account. The app has no sign-up, no login, and no user profiles.
- No analytics or telemetry. Nothing measures how you use the app. No usage statistics, crash reporters, or tracking SDKs of that kind.
- No advertising. The app contains no ads and no ad networks.
- No sensitive data. The app never accesses your camera, microphone, location, contacts, files, or any other personal information. Your recitations are never recorded — there is no audio input at all.
- No profiling. Nothing about you is inferred, shared, or sold, because nothing about you is collected.
3. What stays on your device
Your preferences and progress — the selected dhikr, your target, the light or dark theme, and any interrupted session — are stored locally on your device only. They are never transmitted to us, because there is no server to transmit them to.
Like any Android app, this local data may be included in the standard, encrypted backup that Android makes to your own Google account. We have no access to it. Uninstalling the app deletes everything.
4. In-app purchases
The app offers optional, repeatable in-app purchases to support its development. The full purchase flow — payment method, billing, and transaction — is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your payment details.
To verify that a purchase is legitimate, the app passes the Google Play purchase token to RevenueCat, Inc., a purchase-verification service. In that process, Google Play and RevenueCat may process your purchase history and the technical identifiers described in their own policies:
- Google Play: policies.google.com/privacy
- RevenueCat: www.revenuecat.com/privacy
This data is used only to confirm the purchase and restore it if you reinstall the app. It is not used for advertising or profiling. RevenueCat does aggregate purchases into anonymous revenue statistics that we consult — that is the only analytics involved, and it concerns sales, not how you use the app. We do not receive your identity or payment information.
5. Permissions
The app itself declares one permission: Internet. It is used for one purpose only — the purchase verification described in section 4. If you never make a purchase, the app needs no network connection at all.
Three further permissions are added automatically by the standard libraries the app is built with. They are listed here for completeness:
- View network connections (
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) — added by the purchase-verification library, to check whether a connection is available before contacting Google Play. - In-app purchases (
com.android.vending.BILLING) — added by the Google Play Billing library. It is what allows Google Play to show you the purchase dialog. - An app-private internal permission (
DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION) — added by a standard Android support library. It is signature-level: it grants access to nothing outside the app, and no other app can hold it.
None of these are runtime permissions and none belongs to a sensitive category, so Android never asks you to approve them. The app declares no access to camera, microphone, location, contacts, storage, phone, calendar, or any other personal data.
6. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. Because no personal data is collected from any user, none is collected from children either.
7. Your choices and data deletion
- Local data: uninstall the app, or clear its data in your device settings. That removes everything.
- Purchase data: purchase records are held by Google (in your Google account) and RevenueCat. To request their deletion, contact us at the address below and we will forward the request, or contact Google directly for data held in your Google account.
8. Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes how it handles data, this policy will be updated here and the effective date above will change. We will never start collecting data silently.
